About Us
Purpose
I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known
through all generations. Psalm 89:1
Our purpose is to fulfill Christ’s great commission by presenting His word through
song.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
Our prayer is that God is glorified by the songs we sing and that any who may not know Him prior to attending
one of our performances will leave with the soul-saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6
History
Headin’ Home Quartet (HHQ) was formed during the summer of 2001 by four members of the
First Baptist Church in Colfax, Iowa. Our initial intent
was simply to occasionally sing special music at our church on Sunday mornings. However, the existence of
our quartet became known around the community and we began receiving invitations to sing at other area
churches. As time went on, God continued to bless our ministry by providing additional opportunities for us
to minister more frequently and farther afield.
We are very thankful for the support (both financial and spiritual) our church
family has provided us since our group was formed.
Ministry
HHQ members are committed to following God’s leading by spreading His Word through song as frequently
as He enables us to do so. We have appeared at church services, special church events, nursing homes, gospel
sings, community events, and private events.
We tailor performances to meet the needs of the organization for which we will sing. Past concerts have
lasted anywhere from thirty to ninety minutes.
Jim Seiberling is HHQ’s booking agent. We typically only request a free-will offering for our
appearances. We place our trust in God to provide for the financial needs of our ministry by leading those in
attendance to contribute sufficient funds to cover ministry expenses.
